Drowning Doesn't Look Like the Movies
A message from the Caney Volunteer Fire Department:
In films, someone drowning is always waving their arms and shouting for help. In reality, it is quiet, fast, and can happen right before your eyes during a brief moment of distraction.
Unsupervised children face the highest risk. Whether you are swimming at a backyard pool, visiting family, or spending the weekend at the lake, remember the golden rule of water safety: If your child is in or near the water, your eyes are on them. No exceptions.
Put the phones away, stay within arm's reach of weak swimmers, and let's keep our Caney kids safe this season. 🚒👨🚒
