👋 Meet Caring Karen!

Caring Karen is a member of the Downtown Tuscumbia CareCrowTrail, a fun way to celebrate fall and raise awareness for local nonprofits!

Karen works hard, and though she’s a little whimsical, she never bends to those fall winds. Located at 102 N. Water St. in Tuscumbia, the Colbert Caring Center, Inc. center provides emergency assistance to residents in need with joy and determination. 

Their food pantry operates Tuesday–Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., distributing canned goods, boxed foods, peanut butter, jelly, and more. They can also help supply food, clothing, utility help, and diaper support.

Neighbors, please come stroll the trail, enjoy the care-crows, and learn more about our community! 🌽

This event is always a great worship service with wonderful fellowship with other Christians in our community. The offering collected during the service goes to the Colbert Caring Center to assist our local neighbors; and, there are so many of our neighbors experiencing food and other financial crises this year!!

Join us this Sunday night at 6 PM for the Community Thanksgiving service. We would like to invite all the churches from our community to join us in worship on this night. There will be a finger food fellowship following the service in the the church gym. What better way to kick off the week of Thanksgiving, We hope to see you there!

The Caring Center is in need of canned/boxed food items. We need pasta, spaghetti sauce, canned beans, soup, chili, and hamburger helper. Our address is 102 N Water Street in Tuscumbia. You can drop off items or have them delivered. Our PayPal is listed as Colbert Caring Center. Thank you !

Many thanks to the Boy Scouts sponsored by Tuscumbia First Methodist Church for their recent “Fill the Trailer for the Colbert Caring Center” donations drive. They collected a trailer full of donations; and they worked at the Center during their regular Monday night meeting to unload the trailer and organize their donations on the food pantry shelves. Great work, Scouts! You have provided food and toiletry items for many families in need of assistance in Colbert County!!

We are thankful for a wonderful Community Thanksgiving Service tonight hosted this year by Rev. Barrett Long and the First Baptist Church in Tuscumbia. Thanks to the churches whose members attended and to the pastors who had a part in leading the service. A special thanks to Dr. Rudy Guess of First Methodist Church in Tuscumbia for delivering the Thanksgiving message.

We give thanks for the warm hearts present who gave an offering that went to the Colbert Caring Center. If you were unable to attend the service but want to help support the work of the Center in helping those in need there are several ways you can do this. Donations may be mailed to the Colbert Caring Center at 102 N. Water St., Tuscumbia, AL or those donations may be hand delivered during operating hours, 9:00 to 2:30 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The Center’s phone number for receiving VENMO donations is 256-942-9889. PayPal donations are also accepted through the Center’s email at [email protected].
