Deshler High School is proud to recognize Miss Reagan Johnson for representing our school and community at Alabama Girls State held this past week at the University of Alabama!

Girls State is a premier leadership and citizenship program sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary. Participants gain firsthand experience in government by forming and operating city, county, and state governments, while learning about civic engagement, public service, and leadership. Throughout the week, delegates develop valuable leadership skills, build lasting friendships, and deepen their understanding of the responsibilities of active citizenship.

We are incredibly proud of Reagan’s dedication, leadership, and commitment to representing Deshler High School with excellence. Her participation in this prestigious program is a testament to her character and the bright future ahead.

Deshler High School is proud to have had Jay Murner, Warner Johnson, and George Youngblood represent our school and community at the American Legion’s 2026 Boys State held this past week at the University of Alabama!

Boys State is one of the nation’s most respected leadership and citizenship programs. Delegates spend the week learning about government through hands-on experiences, including elections, legislative sessions, court proceedings, and the formation of city, county, and state governments. Participants develop leadership skills, strengthen their understanding of civic responsibility, and build relationships with fellow students from across Alabama.

We are incredibly proud of these students for their willingness to serve, lead, and represent Deshler High School with excellence. Their participation in this prestigious program reflects the bright future ahead for each of them.
