ALDOT plans to resurface a portion of Greensboro Avenue (SR-215) from the intersection of Skyland Boulevard (US-11) to 10th Avenue in Tuscaloosa to improve mobility and safety.

The 1.3-mile nighttime project is expected to begin Sunday, Aug. 30, and will continue for approximately two months, weather permitting.

The project will use a mill-and-fill process, with the contractor removing the existing pavement and replacing it with new asphalt. Any pavement removed overnight must be replaced before lanes reopen to daytime traffic.

Lane closures will not be allowed from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. to reduce the impact on traffic. Additionally, lane closures will not be allowed on Saturdays when the University of Alabama has a home football game.

ALDOT will implement a new traffic pattern for the Gordo Bypass project on US-82 in Pickens County on Tuesday, July 28, weather permitting.

As part of the change, drivers on US-82 will shift onto the new westbound lanes while the eastbound lanes remain under construction from the Pickens-Tuscaloosa county line to approximately one mile west of the Town of Gordo.

Motorists should expect delays and intermittent traffic stoppages throughout the day as crews safely transition traffic to the new alignment.

The existing US-82 will remain open between Pickens County Road 33 (Sand Springs Road) and the western Gordo town limits. Motorists traveling to or from SR-86 should use Pickens County Road 33 and the existing US-82 to access the highway.

Drivers should also use caution at the intersection of the new US-82 alignment and SR-159, where traffic will be controlled by a four-way stop.

Crews will continue working on the project with an expected completion date of early summer 2027.

ALDOT plans to open both southbound lanes on the US-11 widening project in Vance between Daimler Benz Boulevard in Tuscaloosa County and SR-5 in Bibb County by Friday evening.

Both northbound lanes opened in May.

Motorists will travel on the permanent four-lane configuration with two lanes in each direction along the approximately seven-mile corridor, marking a major milestone in the project to improve traffic flow, enhance safety and support continued industrial growth in the area.

Crews will continue working on permanent traffic striping, the shared-use path and other final items.
