We wanted to share a few photos from our recent TCSO Ranger Program Information Session. We had a great time meeting prospective Ranger applicants, and their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn were truly exciting to see.

During the session, we discussed the mission of the TCSO Ranger Program, training opportunities, program expectations, and the application process. The program is open to young men and women ages 16-25, including high school students, college students, and other young leaders who are interested in leadership, public service, and making a positive impact in their community.

Whether you're considering a future career in law enforcement or public safety, or simply want to develop leadership skills, serve your community, and gain valuable real-world experience, the TCSO Ranger Program offers a unique opportunity to grow, learn, and lead.

Applications are now being accepted for the TCSO Ranger Program.

Animal Control and Sheriff's Office K-9s Nellie Mae, Bocci, and Martz want to help spread the word about Alabama's new standards for outdoor dog care, known as Beau's Law.

Effective October 1, 2026, Beau's Law establishes minimum care requirements for outdoor dogs, including adequate food, clean water, proper shelter, secure enclosures, and safe tethering practices.

The law also prohibits unsafe tethering devices and provides enforcement measures to protect dogs from neglect and dangerous conditions.

We encourage all pet owners to review the attached guide and ensure they are prepared before the law takes effect.

๐Ÿพ Together, we can help keep Alabama's dogs safe, healthy, and protected.

Keeping our Deputies going takes more than dedication, it takes a little hydration and caffeine, too.

A big thank you to Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, Inc. for their generous donation of Powerade and Reign Energy Drinks to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriffโ€™s Office. We greatly appreciate your continued support of our Deputies and our community.

Pictured with Sgt. Jackson are Steve Needham and George Smith.

Thanks for helping keep the TCSO hydrated, energized, and ready to serve! ๐Ÿš”

Tuscaloosa County Deputies enjoyed working the Hillcrest High School Patriots vs. Central High School Falcons game last night.

Great sportsmanship on the field, excellent performances by both bands, and a fan-friendly atmosphere made for another great night of high school football.

Thereโ€™s just something special about Friday nights under the lights ๐Ÿˆ

As we reflect on Patriot Day and honor the heroes and lives lost on 09/11/2001, we want to sincerely thank Magnolia Chapel Funeral Homes for providing a wonderful meal for their First Responders Appreciation Lunch.

Your generosity and support helped make this day of remembrance and gratitude even more meaningful. We are blessed to have community partners like you who continually give back and honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Twenty-five years ago, our nation was changed forever.

In the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the Tuscaloosa County Sheriffโ€™s Office sent a detachment to New York City to assist with recovery efforts at Ground Zero. These photographs were taken during that deployment inside the Theodore Roosevelt Room and the Hall of Heroes at NYPD Headquarters.

A quarter century has passed, but the effects of 9/11 are still being felt. Each year during National Police Week, the names of NYPD officers and other first responders who answered the call that day continue to be added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial as they lose their lives to illnesses, including cancers linked to their service at Ground Zero.

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, and those who have carried the physical and emotional consequences of that day ever since.
