Please join us in welcoming Taylorville Primary’s new principal, Dr. Cay Strickland!

Dr. Cay Strickland began her teaching career at Hillcrest Middle School teaching 8th grade English. Three years later, she moved to Hillcrest High School where she taught English and chemistry along with a variety of electives for the next seventeen years. After this, she made a move to Sipsey Valley Middle School as the assistant principal where she served for nine years. Over the years, she has also served as an adjunct professor for The University of Alabama and Shelton State Community College.

Dr. Strickland enjoys spending time with her family which consists of her husband and three daughters who are teachers in the Hillcrest community along with her two sons-in-law who are also teachers. She loves to bake goodies, read a good book, work outside, and sing in the choir at Valley View Baptist Church. She is very thrilled to have been given the opportunity to serve Taylorville Primary School as principal and looks forward to meeting everyone really soon.
