On 8/29/26 at 10:12 am we were paged to help assist Balko FD with a grass fire at ns119 and ew23. Turpin sent 3 brush trucks with 7 fire fighters. All units back at station at 1:54 pm

This heat has the grass at the “Dan the man Duerson memorial” football field at Turpin school a little dry. 4 hours and 12,000 gallons later hopefully the brown spots can green up and the sprinklers can keep up. Pray for rain!

8/9/26 at 841 am we were paged to the KS state line at 313 coyote rd off ns119 for a grass fire. With the heavy smoke while enroute, Seward county ks fire department was called for assistance. Glad to have help from Seward and can’t thank them enough. Fire was caused from a dug out bbq pit.

On 8/2 5:25 pm while on a medical call we were paged to a grass fire on ns126 and ew15. 2 Turpin trucks west south of Turpin and around and 2 went east and back around as there was 2 fires in our fire district and beaver had 4 fires going. The fires were caused by a dragging piece of equipment on the pavement. With everyone being spread thin the first fire reached the beaver river. After 50 hours on scene and multiple agencies and resources we all were home. 1273 acres were burned on the WMA with a total of approximately 1600 acres. Thank you to every one for any help in anyway. Greatly appreciate it all.

On July 8, 2026, at 3:34 pm, we received a page to assist Balko Fire Department with a grass fire that originated on Highway 412 west of Bryan's Corner, sparked by a blown tire, and had burned approximately 300 acres. Turpin sent 4 brush trucks to assist. Additional support was provided by Hardesty and Adams Fire Departments from Texas County.

Upon returning to the Turpin station, we were dispatched to a traffic accident on Highway 64 east of Highway 83 at NS125. Please exercise caution due to ongoing construction on Highway 64.

Beaver County EMS participated in our July monthly meeting, where they demonstrated the new Lucas device, provided instruction on operating the new ambulance cot, and conducted hands-on training with our team on CPR and other crucial updates. April 27, at 12:17 pm some Fried squirrel was featured on the lunch menu. An incident involving a squirrel and a transformer at 520 Reno Road in Ponderosa caused a minor fire when it fell into the brush. TCEC attended the scene to resolve the problem and restore electricity.

A brush pile fire was reported on April 9, 2026, at 8:13 pm near the Beaver River on NS119. A nearby firefighter arrived in their personal vehicle and determined that the fire was small and could be handled by one truck. Two other trucks that were en route diverted to assist Balko Fire Department with two fires in the vicinity of NS126 and EW18. During firefighting operations, a possible fire was reported east of Turpin on NS120 between EW9 and EW10. Two trucks responded to the report but found no signs of fire and were redirected back to the original incident. After returning to the station at 2:31 am, some repairs were made before a call was received that the fire had rekindled. The team responded and returned to the station at 5:49 am. The fire required additional assistance on Friday at 1:34 pm. The firefighters appreciated the kindness of the person who left cases of Gatorade outside the station upon their return.
