An info session on the proposed Franklin County Technical School building project will be held on Wednesday 9/16 at 7PM at the Franklin County Technical School (More Information: https://www.fctsnewbuildingproject.us/)

An info session on the proposed Great River Regional School District (Six-Town Regionalization) will be held on Tuesday 9/22 at 6PM in the Turners Falls High School Auditorium (More Information: https://6towns.org/)

A Special Town Election will be held on Tuesday 10/6 with ballot questions on both of these projects (More Election Information: https://montague-ma.gov/p/240/Montague-Town-Elections).

Press Release: New Montague electricity program will bring stable electricity prices and new electricity choices.

MONTAGUE, MA. The Town of Montague announces the development of Montague Power Choice, a consumer-friendly group electricity buying program for Montague residents and businesses. Using the collective buying power of the community, the program will aim to secure long-term, stable electricity supply prices. While lower prices compared to Eversource’s Basic Service cannot be guaranteed, the Town is committed to pursuing competitive pricing.

When the program launches, electricity customers in Montague will see a change in the price that is used to calculate the Supply portion of their Eversource electric bill. Eversource will continue to deliver electricity to Montague and handle billing without interruption.

Before launching the program, the Town must develop an Aggregation Plan and submit it to state regulators for review and approval. To ensure the public has an opportunity to be a part of developing this program, the Town is making its draft Aggregation Plan and associated documents available for review and comment before beginning that regulatory review process.

The draft Aggregation Plan for Montague Power Choice will be available for public review and comment from August 17 until September 16, 2026. Those interested in reviewing the Plan and associated documents can download them from the municipal website for the Town of Montague at www.Montague-ma.gov or obtain copies from Town Hall at One Avenue A, Turners Falls, MA.

Montague residents and business owners are encouraged to review the plan and submit written comments via email to [email protected] or via US Mail to: Selectboard Office, One Avenue A, Turners Falls, MA 01376. Comments sent by mail must be received (not postmarked) by the end of the comment period in order to be addressed.

An overview of the Plan will be presented Monday, August 31 at 6:30 PM in a remote meeting with the Montague Selectboard. Information about participating can be found on the calendar at www.Montague-ma.gov.
