Understanding that the enlistment process is different per person and having a realistic timeline expectation is important!

When you meet with your recruiter, make sure to write all of your questions down and bring them with you. We WANT to answer your questions. It’s common to get in front of us and blank out. So, make sure to set yourself up for success and come prepared!

We are holding Air Force Special Warfare tryouts in August in Northern California & Northern Nevada. We conduct tryouts through Initial Fitness Tests (IFTs), but we also conduct development sessions in order to challenge recruits physically and develop the character traits that we want in our Special Warfare Airmen. Here is the August schedule:

SSgt Ortiz and I are more than happy to help get your process started. Unfortunately, the process doesn’t have a set in stone time line. However, I encourage you to start your process 3 months before you’re ready to leave to basic military training (BMT). Call or text us to get started.

On this edition of Down to Earth, we’re checking in with Space Delta 7 – Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, to meet United States Space Force Spc. 3 Shayla Wiley, an all-source intelligence analyst with the 74th ISR Squadron.

Wiley grew up in Columbia, South Carolina, home of Fort Jackson. She joined the Space Force in November of 2021 to support the U.S. and make a difference.
