Turlock Mosquito Abatement District We help protect your health by controlling mosquitoes that spread diseases. Mosquito fish are available at the District office.

We use proven, effective methods to control mosquitoes and reduce the risk of mosquito borne illness. The Turlock Mosquito Abatement District is a special district established in 1946 to protect public health by reducing the risk of disease transmission and nuisances caused by mosquitoes to the residents in the southern portion of Stanislaus County. The District is governed by California Mosquito

and Vector Control Law along with an eight member Board of Trustees. The trustees are local residents appointed by city councils and the board of supervisors of Stanislaus County. The District is publically funded and has monthly board meetings that are open to the public. The District provides year around service which includes prompt response to service requests, on-site inspections and mosquito control work as necessary.

During our inspections, we often see two very different situations.

On the right: the homeowner calls for service—but there’s little to no mosquito activity to treat.

On the left: heavy mosquito breeding is happening—but the homeowner hasn’t reached out.

The difference? Access and awareness.

In cases like the one on the left, there’s a lot we *can* do—but only if we’re given permission to enter the property. If you’re noticing standing water or increased mosquito activity, don’t wait—early action makes a big difference.
