For more than 40 years, Northeast Mississippi Habitat for Humanity has been building more than houses—we’ve been building opportunity, stability, and hope right here in Lee County.

Since 1984, this work has been made possible by generations of homeowners, volunteers, donors, churches, businesses, and community partners who believe everyone deserves a decent place to call home.

We’re proud of where we’ve been, and even more excited about what we’ll continue building together.

Every stage of a Habitat build represents the generosity of our donors, the dedication of our volunteers and partners, and another step toward affordable homeownership for a local family.

Northeast Mississippi Habitat for Humanity is pleased to announce a $30,000 contribution from the Tennessee Valley Authority in support of the organization’s mission to provide safe, affordable housing for families in Tupelo and Lee County.

This generous investment will help NEMS Habitat continue its work of building quality homes, strengthening neighborhoods, and creating opportunities for local families to achieve long-term stability through homeownership.

Northeast Mississippi Habitat for Humanity serves families throughout Tupelo and Lee County by partnering with qualified homeowners to build and purchase safe, affordable homes. Through volunteerism, community partnerships, and donor support, the organization works to build homes, communities, and hope.

A big thank-you to the team from Tupelo’s new Target location for spending their Saturday volunteering with Northeast Mississippi Habitat for Humanity!

We’re grateful for their time, hard work, and willingness to serve as they helped move this home closer to completion. We’re grateful to welcome Target to Tupelo and look forward to seeing the positive impact their team will continue to make in our community!

Strong homes begin with strong foundations—and that includes financial wellness.

A huge thank you to Tracy Barber with Aiming for Healthy Families, Inc. for leading one of our Homeowner Education classes on healthy relationships, spending habits, and personal financial responsibility. These conversations equip our partner families with practical tools to build not only successful homeownership, but also lasting stability for years to come.

Today was another great day on the build site!

We were grateful to welcome several of our Habitat partner families, community members, volunteers from Homestretch Furniture, and members of our Board of Directors as they worked side by side to help build a brighter future for a local family.
