Wednesday, June 25th, Tuolumne Fire District personnel staffed engines 732 and 733 to assist Cal Fire TCU with performing a prescribed burn on the Mt. Havalia VMP. This VMP is located closely outside of the community of Tuolumne. The purpose of this burn was to improve the fuel break between Tuolumne and the Tuolumne River Canyon. The fuel break helps firefighting resources in protecting the community in the event of a large fire. Operations throughout the day were successful.
