As we wrap up scholarship season for our Wyoming County seniors, the Wyoming County Community Health Foundation was proud to award another deserving student with a scholarship to help support future tuition costs!
Congratulations to Alana Kimelenski of Tunkhannock Area School District on receiving this year’s scholarship award. It was an honor to present Alana not only with this scholarship, but also with a special plaque designed by past board member Richard “Dick” Daniels. The plaque beautifully represents many of the former schools throughout Wyoming County, several of which have since closed their doors, preserving an important piece of our county’s history and educational legacy.
Following Dick’s passing last year, we have reflected often on the incredible impact he made throughout our community. His dedication to education, local history, and supporting Wyoming County students helped shape the scholarship program into what it is today, and his legacy continues to inspire the work we do.
As we close out this year’s scholarship season, we are also excited to announce a brand-new event coming this summer! On Saturday, July 18, we will host our first-ever Susquehanna River Float, with proceeds benefiting future scholarship opportunities for Wyoming County graduates.
This special event will be held in memory of Dick Daniels, whose vision, leadership, and passion for this community were instrumental in building and growing our scholarship program over the years.
Please mark your calendars for July 18 - we look forward to sharing more details soon and continuing to invest in the future of Wyoming County students!
