The Tritons have had a busy week. The bids for the sale of our 1987 Brush truck were opened at the monthly meeting last Monday. The Brush truck was sold to an individual from Hughesville, Pa for the price of $15,782.22. The Brush truck was picked up over the weekend. We thank everyone who placed a bid or showed interest in the truck. The apparatus served us well for many years and will be well cared for in its new life.

A small group of Tritons spent Friday at the Fire Expo in Harrisburg. This year was special for the Tritons, as our new Brush Truck was on display at the Glick Fire Equipment booth. Thank you to Glick and the great team they have built for allowing us to be apart of Pennsylvania’s Fire Expo.

The Tritons are always grateful to participate in this event. As always we are exited to participate in community events teaching our youth, this being one of our favorites. Thank you to the Tunkhannock Area School District and it’s senior class for a their attentiveness today. We wish the TAHS Class of 2026 luck in their futures.

‼️SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT‼️

With the replacement of our current brush truck, your Tritons’ have decided to sell the 1987 Chevrolet Custom Deluxe, 1 ton. This vehicle will be sold as is. This will be sold via sealed bid’s via mail. Top bidder will be sold the vehicle. All bid’s are subject to approval of the Triton Hose Company Board of Government.

Vehicle bids must be received by Monday, May 4th, 2026.

Should you want to view the vehicle, viewing times are as follows:
Mondays: 5pm-8pm
Saturdays: Call for an appointment.

Bids will be unsealed at the Department’s business meeting on Monday, May 11th, 2026 at 7pm.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to our neighbors and friends of the Northmoreland Township Volunteer Fire Company, who are mourning the loss of long time President Jim Gilpin.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charter Member, Life Member and long time President Jim Gilpin. Jim was a highly dedicated member and had the vision for the future. Jim ran our popular Monday night Bingos, fundraisers and was instrumental in our expansions of facilities and services. A highly decorated Army Veteran, Jim served his country proudly. He will be missed by all and his foresight and determination will be carried on for generations to come. May he rest in peace.
