Conservation Districts (CD) are legal subdivisions of state government that administer programs to conserve natural resources. CD’s are governed by volunteer boards that establish priorities and set policy. CD’s exist in every county in the United States and work closely with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (formerly known as the Soil Conservation Service), a branch of the United States Department of Agriculture.The District Board of Supervisors typically meets at 5:30 PM on the 4th Thursday of every month at the Thurston Conservation District meeting room or virtually during COVID-19.
