3/20/2026. The NWS has upgraded the Fire Watch to a Red Flag Warning for the area in pink. This also includes all the Texas panhandle. Conditions tomorrow in the Red Flag Warning area will have gusts to 30mph and relative humidity down to 4%! The temps will also be in the mid 90s. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions will be occurring in this area. A fire weather watch will be in counties in tan. Tomorrow is not the day to do any outdoor burning in these areas.

If you were burning anything in the last 3 days, GO CHECK IT and make sure it’s out! Embers from a recents fire can start a fire, which will spread very fast on a day like this. Remember…. If you see smoke or see someone dragging a chain down the highway, call 911 immediately. Don’t wait!

Whatever you do today please DO NOT THROW YOUR CI******ES OUT OF THE WINDOW OR ON THE GROUND!!! PUT IT OUT WITH WATER!! If you burned anything in a contained fire (ie...fire pit, grill, burn barrel, ANYTHING.... in the last week, go put water on it again!! It only takes a spark in these conditions to start a fire! IF YOU SEE SMOKE TODAY REPORT IT IMMEDIATELY!! THANK YOU!!

Calmer winds will limit fire spread potential today affording very good opportunity for prescribed fires in areas of Oklahoma. Please ensure that you thoroughly mop-up and extinguish any heat persisting on control lines ahead of potential for critical fire weather with strong gusty winds on Sunday. Stay vigilant Oklahoma!

A Red Flag Warning is in effect today across the Oklahoma Panhandle with elevated fire weather over dormant fuels in the west. A very strong cold front will travers the southern Plains tomorrow with very strong winds shifting north gusting as high as 65 mph in areas prompting concern for extreme rates of fire spread on established wildfires.

All forms of outdoor burning are strongly discouraged today! Recent prescribed and controlled burning will merit attention to ensure mop-up is completed limiting potential for escape fires when winds shift with cold front arrival and increase dramatically.

May Volunteer Fire Department 🚒👩‍🚒👨‍🚒 has been working hard with our area Fire Departments in Beaver and Harper County battling the wild fires that started on Tuesday. We are still out helping with the hotspots and flareups.

Reports show thus far Ranger Road Fire, Beaver Co. - has burned 145,000 acres combined in Oklahoma & Kansas.

Our volunteer firemen & firetrucks have taken a beating and can use your help!
When we have to cover this much country in rough terrain, thick smoke and ash its detrimental we keep our trucks and firemen serviced and maintained to keep us all safe.

All monetary donations are greatly needed to cover gas and maintenance (oil, filters, belts, grease, tires, for our fire trucks)

INJURED FIREFIGHTERS: These are the three Rosston volunteer firefighters who were fighting Oklahoma wildfires on Tuesday when their truck crashed and caught fire. Unbelievable to look at that bottom right photo! Here’s what their families are telling us:

Randy Masters — he is out of surgery and they put a plate and screws in his foot. He cannot put any weight on it for three months.

Jake Edwards — he was on the back of the truck when it wrecked. He suffered damage to his eyes, a brain bleed and a severe concussion. He is stable.

Chris Campbell — he suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns on both of his arms. He had surgery today. He’s alert and in good spirits.
