Earlier this week, the Cadets had their weekly meeting and were joined by special guests from the Tulsa Police Department’s Special Operations Team!

Lt. Madden and Officer Chronister, both Special Operations Team members, gave the Cadets an overview of how Officers make high-risk entries into structures.

Cadets got to walk through some tactics and utilize tools that SOT uses on some of their calls.

At the end of the demonstration, one of the Cadets was lucky enough to hit the switch for a breaching charge set on one of the doors.

Huge shout out to the Special Operations Team for putting on this incredible demonstration!

The Tulsa Police Cadet program (formerly the Explorer program) helps young adults get a look at what it takes to be a Police Officer. They meet once a week, and they’re actively recruiting new members!

Please join us in congratulating Cadet Major William Nicely on taking his Oath of Enlistment with the Oklahoma Air National Guard this morning and securing his career with the 138th Security Forces Squadron. This marks his first step in the transition from civilian to Airman.

Cadet Major Nicely has been an exceptional leader in the Tulsa Police Cadet program, consistently demonstrating integrity, discipline, and a heart for service. His decision to enlist is a powerful example of how our cadets don’t just serve their local community—they go on to serve our state and our nation.

He will soon be joining the proud list of former Explorers and Cadets who have raised their right hand to defend our country. Congratulations, Cadet Major Nicely. We’re proud of you and excited to see all you will accomplish in uniform.
