Summer school isn't just about catching up on academics.

Tulsa Public Schools says its summer learning program is designed to keep students engaged through a mix of reading, hands-on enrichment and creative activities that help build stronger connections to school. District leaders hope those experiences will also encourage better attendance when students return to the classroom this fall.

From art projects to mobile library visits, see how the district is working to prevent the "summer slide" while making learning something students want to be part of.

🔔 On Tuesday, the House passed a continuing resolution (220 to 205) extending FY2026 funding levels through December 4, keeping 21st CCLC and other federal education funding intact through the fall. The bill needs 60 votes in the Senate; if it clears, the real FY2027 funding decisions shift to a lame-duck Congress after the November elections.

There is still time to reach out to Congress in support of afterschool and summer program funding.

It has been a busy summer 😎 We have had so much fun partnering with Opp Project LLC and Tulsa Public Schools to deliver even more programming to students during their July summer learning. One more week, then we will be gearing up for the new school year!
