On July 4th, 2005 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Joseph Adetula, just 18, was walking north on N. Frankfort Avenue. A gold Oldsmobile or Cadillac drove up next to Joseph and an unknown person began shooting at Joseph. 911 was called at 8:50 pm and police arrived to the 5600 block of N. Frankfort and found Joseph Adetula. He'd been shot 4-5 times. He was taken to St. John Medical Center where he died.

There are no known suspects in Joseph's murder and there have been no arrests.

Joseph's father, Dayo Adetula, went on to create the Joseph Adetula Foundation, a nonprofit aimed at stopping violence amongst young people and helping them see their bright futures. Please visit www.josephadetulafoundation.org for more information.
