In 2011, our founders set out on a mission to transform the world of orphan care through a grassroots approach by equipping communities to care for vulnerable children. Unveiled through years of service, they met people of all ages who struggled to know their purpose and lived only to survive. Through partnership with the voices of local Ugandan change makers, eager to see the end of the cycle of

abuse, poverty and injustice — Project Orphans Uganda was birthed. Over a decade ago, Project Orphans waged a war against the villains that plague our community, suffocating lives from living free of injustice. Serving through innovative programs that tackle the systemic issues — we provide tools that allow people to get out of the trenches and pursue a quality and purposeful life. Our full-circle approach is an ongoing commitment to break the cycle of selfless survival and empower a world of compassion.

Oral Roberts University students are spreading the love here in Uganda! These are some of the happiest days for our kids and community to have such fun and joy-filled visitors to love on and serve them. This team has been helping to freshen up our campus with painting, serving in our departments at Pearl Village, volunteering at other organizations helping take care of children, clean, cook and garden. It’s been a full week and the sweetest of memories are being formed!

There’s something powerful about hearing a child talk about their dream and knowing that not long ago, it may not have been possible.

This month, we’re sharing what education really looks like in Uganda. Did you know Project Orphans has built two schools? Faith Elementary and Spouts Preschool were established to bring the community of Zirobwe quality education, shaping the minds of the future leaders.

This month, we’re leaning into something we see every day… that healing is not just physical, it’s deeply personal. It’s a mother finding relief as her child begins to recover. It’s strength returning after weeks of weakness. It’s dignity restored through care, nutrition, and clean water.

At Project Orphans, healing happens in many ways—through the hands of our medical team, through life-saving treatment, through nourishment, therapy, and the simple gift of being seen and cared for.

Judith was born with arthrogryposis—a condition that causes severe joint stiffness and muscle weakness. She cannot walk, bend her elbows, or move her fingers. Most people would look at her life and see limitations.

But Judith has never lived that way.

While at our Blessing’s Cove Special Need Daycare, she shared a dream: she wanted to go to a regular school. And she did. In her very first year, Judith finished FIRST in her class. Her achievement blew us away, yet she continued to impress us. She joined choir, leads devotions, and shows up fully in every performance—dance, theater, all of it.

She may move differently, but she shows up with a kind of courage that’s hard to put into words. She leads. She participates. She never gives up.

Judith’s life is a reminder that strength doesn’t always look the way we expect it to, but it’s undeniable when you see it.
