Eden Village of Tulsa

Eden Village of Tulsa Eden Village is a 63 unit tiny home community designed to provide permanent supported housing for formerly chronically homeless individuals. PSALM 107:4-7

Our Vision as a non-profit is to help make Tulsa be a city where No One Sleeps Outside. A home is a basic necessity, essential to a human’s well-being and only once this is met, can the person address their needs. Loss of family, home and community is catastrophic to mankind and often sends people down a path they are unable to get out of by themselves. We’ve found the key to helping the chronical

ly homeless is by providing food, shelter and community. With these three basic needs being met, they can begin to rebuild. Eden Village, a program of The Gathering Tree is a 501(c)(3) that has created a proven concept by building relationships and tiny home communities for homeless individuals who have a disability. Eden Village provides dignified housing and loving supportive communities of hospitality to a city’s chronically disabled homeless population to meet the individual’s most fundamental needs. Eden Village was the first of-its-kind tiny home community that made its debut in Springfield, MO (headquarters) in August of 2018. The first community has proven the model and has lifted disabled and formerly homeless individuals off the streets and into a home within a gated community, supported by on-site support services including, but not limited to a psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse, psychiatric case managers, Qualified Mental Health Providers and a community center where the residents can both work and interact with other residents, guests and volunteers. Eden Village does not want to simply provide ‘adequate housing’ for the chronically disabled homeless. We want to create and nurture a sense of community; not only for those who live at Eden Village, but have a welcoming attitude city wide that the whole community can grow and be involved in. One of the goals of Eden Village is to spread the model across the nation. There is currently one funded and in development in Wilmington, NC, Kansas City, MO, with more in the development phase. After volunteering, exploring, and learning more about the homeless situation and specifically Eden Village, my wife and I have decided to start Eden village of Tulsa. So, I’m seeking out people from the Tulsa community who may want to roll up their sleeves and get to work in helping to make this happen, so that no one sleeps outside. Main Eden Village website:

Tulsa needs something like this, many of them, in order to help address our homeless problem. Please contact Brad Johnson at 918-549-5169, or [email protected], if you’d like to become involved, support, and be a part of our team. Some wandered in the wilderness, lost and homeless. Hungry and thirsty, they nearly died. “Lord help!” they cried in their trouble, and he rescued them from their distress. He led them straight to safety, to a city where they could live.

Congratulations to Angus Martin and The Birch Co on winning Best Overall Home and Best Interior Design in this year’s Parade of Homes!

Birch Co. has built many homes for Eden Village of Tulsa, and we are incredibly grateful for their partnership, generosity, and belief in our mission. When they invited us to join them on opening day of the Parade of Homes, we didn’t hesitate. We were excited to celebrate this well-deserved achievement alongside a team that has invested so much into our community.

At Eden Village, we believe relationships are a two-way street. We value every one of our partners and strive not only to express our gratitude but to demonstrate it through our support and presence.

We’re proud of Birch Co.’s success and thankful to call them partners in changing lives right here in Tulsa. Well done, Birch Co.!

Very true.

Very true.

Did you know?

A Los Angeles study found that the average public cost for a person experiencing chronic homelessness was $2,897 per month, compared to $605 per month for a similar person living in supportive housing.

That's nearly 5 times higher when someone remains homeless.

Why?

Because when people are forced to live without stable housing, they often rely on costly emergency services, including ambulance rides, emergency room visits, hospital stays, crisis interventions, and law enforcement responses.

Permanent, supportive housing changes that.

When people have a safe place to live and a community that supports them, they are better able to manage their health, access resources, build relationships, and focus on long-term stability instead of daily survival.

At Eden Village, we believe homelessness is not just a housing issue, it's a community issue.

The solution isn't simply providing a roof overhead. It's creating a place where people are known, valued, and connected.

Investing in people doesn't just change lives, it strengthens communities.

What a gift it was to host a summer camp group from Metro Christian Academy at Eden Village yesterday!

These students jumped right in and served with joy, harvesting an incredible 324 pounds of cucumbers from our farm. Those cucumbers will be pickled, jarred, and sold to help support the work happening here in our community. They also spent time loving on our baby goats—always a favorite part of a day at the Village!

At Eden Village, every volunteer helps create a place where neighbors can thrive. Whether you're harvesting in the garden, helping with projects around the Village, or simply building relationships, your time makes a difference.

This is a great season to get involved, and we have plenty of opportunities to serve! Join us for our 2nd Saturday Volunteer Workday this Saturday from 9:00–12:00 PM. We'd love to have you be part of what God is doing here.

HELP! If you or someone you know has pickling experience and/or jam experience, we have the perfect opportunity for a team of 2 volunteers to come into our new barn production room and help our neighbors make pickles and blackberry freezer jam. This is a great way to help a formerly homeless neighbor to learn life skills, develop relationships, and our neighbors earn money when we sell these to the public. For each jar sold for $6, they earn $1.50, and our non-profit makes about $2 to help fund our operating expenses. IT's what I call a triple-win....our neighbors win, Eden Village wins, and the community gets to enjoy great fresh food. Plus, you'll have so much fun in doing this! Just contact our office at 918-550-0081 for information or e-mail to [email protected].

Meet the Team Behind Eden Village of Tulsa

Eden Village of Tulsa didn't just pop up overnight. Behind every home, every neighbor relationship, and every success story is a team of dedicated people who have spent years learning, growing, serving, and overcoming.

From top left to right: Matt, Jack, Michael, and Marc. Bottom left to right: Liz and Melissa. And of course, our security dog, Chester! 🐾

Together, our team brings an incredible 102 years of combined mental health experience—55 years of lived experience and 47 years of professional experience. Those years have shaped our commitment to creating a community where people are known, valued, supported, and loved.

We're honored to serve our neighbors and grateful for the opportunity to help make sure no one sleeps outside.
