Confused about how to recycle pizza boxes? We’re here to help!

While the cardboard is recyclable, leftover food residue, liners and small plastic dividers contaminate the recycling stream. To recycle empty pizza boxes properly, make sure they are empty before placing them in the blue cart. If they can’t be recycled, dispose of them in the gray trash cart.

For a refresher on what is and isn't accepted in the blue recycling cart, please visit tulsarecycles.com.

Do you know? Central Stoneroller is the largest fish population found in our city’s creeks and streams. We counted 3,726 of these small brown minnows in our streams last year!

These fish can live in highly polluted bodies of water and primarily eat algae, so they are not the best indicator of water quality. However, they are necessary to help improve water conditions in their habitats.

For more information and stats about our creeks and streams, you can find the full annual report at tulsastreams.com.
