Too many young Black men still face barriers rooted in history. We believe in second chances, real change, and building pathways away from incarceration.

At 1st Step, it’s about more than basketball—it’s about brotherhood, discipline, accountability, and growth. Our young men continue showing up, building teamwork, staying active, and supporting one another both on and off the court. Every game is another opportunity to strengthen relationships, develop leadership, and represent what 1st Step is all about.
Here’s some of our players putting in work and representing the team! We’re proud of the effort, dedication, and positive attitudes these young men bring every day. Keep grinding, fellas—this is just the beginning! 💪🏀
