*Compare candidate responses to unbiased questions posed by the League;
*Create a printout of choices to take to the polls; and
**If there is a local League in the community, find information on local races and candidates!

Good morning!

We are excited to announce our new COMMUNITY BULLETIN BOARD!

This is double-sided, so you can even see it outside in the parking lot!

We have information about local events and resources posted here. We also have a small section of resource flyers posted above our hygiene closet - such as information on programs available from Panhandle Community Services, etc.

If you'd like to have your flyer showcased here, please provide 2 copies of your flyer so we can have one showing on each side. Two separate copies work best so that the light shining through doesn't distort the image on the inside!

We hope this will be a benefit to our area. Please let us know if you're excited about this new project!

We can't wait to see YOU soon!

Good morning!

We are super excited to announce that we have started a boardbook BRAILLE section! We don't have many titles as of yet, but will hopefully be able to grow them as we see them circulate!

Come see us and let us know what YOU are looking for at the library!

*Photo description: Two photos of the same section of books on our library shelf that are Braille titles to include a couple of Clifford the Big Red Dog, a Llama Llama book, an animal book, a dinosaur book, and some with Spanish, English, AND Braille!

Panhandle Community Services offers a weatherization program!

Research indicates that small repairs on a home can greatly reduce its overall energy cost. The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) can help eligible families reduce energy consumption, heating, and cooling costs. These services are provided free of charge to eligible homeowners and/or renters. Households with seniors, disabled persons, or children under the age of 6 years are priority clients in WAP.

The WAP works with local contractors and vendors. Trained and certified staff members conduct in-depth reviews of each home; work with the contractors to make necessary repairs; and oversee any replacements done in accordance with requirements.

https://www.pcsvcs.org/services/weatherization/?shem=aimgspe,

HOW IT WORKS
Complete and submit an application. The application is available at any Panhandle Community Services Center or on their web page.

If the application is approved, PCS will determine the priority of the application based on households with seniors, disabled persons, or children under the age of 6 years. Households within these priority groups may receive assistance before households that do not.

Due to limited funding, applicants may be placed on a waiting list according to the household priority.

*The home will be checked for excessive amounts of Carbon Monoxide (CO) and gas leaks (if applicable) prior to any work being done on the home. PCS will notify the client if a possible gas leak or CO problem exists. The WAP program does not remedy gas leaks, but in special cases appliances may be replaced or repaired when there are high levels of CO.
