"Shingles! That contractor wasn't real!"

Listen, folks. That storm was really bad! Well, we here at Tucumcari Police Department understand the need to get work done quickly, efficiently, and cost effectively. Here are some things to keep in mind:

After large storms or catastrophic weather, there is always seemingly an abundance of contractors or "friends of a friend" willing to do the work for a low price and promise speedy results.

If you ever have any doubts that the contractor may not be legitimate, or have any concerns, don't hesitate to ask to see the contractors licensing, check with your insurance, or as always, feel free to reach out to Tucumcari Police Department for assistance.

To those who chase storms, happy hunting! To those of us seeking shelter, may your battery be charged!

Spooky evening, huh folks?

At this time, we are aware the power is out for possibly the entire county. The city of Tucumcari is actively working to put up lights at our major intersections and we have increased patrols at this time.

We understand that you may not be able to reach dispatch, rest assured, our officers will be patrolling with lights on, so you can flag them down to address any of your concerns.

Please, do not speed at this time. Your vehicle lights may not be enough to see pedestrians, derelict vehicles, or road hazards.

Thank you all for your cooperation, and try your best to stay cool!
