Professional Learning Opportunity for Southern Arizona Educators & Administrators

We’re pleased to share an upcoming opportunity from our community partner, the Center for Jewish Resilience, a program of Jewish Philanthropies of Southern Arizona.

The Southwest Institute: Protecting Students and Strengthening Schools returns on Sunday, Nov. 1, bringing together leading experts to help K–12 educators and administrators better understand and address contemporary antisemitism in schools while gaining tools that can also help schools respond to other forms of discrimination.

Participants will leave with practical resources to support students and help create safer, more inclusive school communities.

Participation includes:
• Complimentary registration
• Professional development hours and certificate
• $100 honorarium for eligible educators
• Complimentary breakfast, lunch, and snacks
• School grants of up to $2,500 for qualifying educator/administrator cohorts

We encourage educators and school leaders throughout Pima County to learn more and consider taking advantage of this professional learning opportunity!

What an incredible Saturday of connection, collaboration, and learning! đź’ˇ

More than 100 parents and educators came together for the Regional Gifted Parent-Teacher Institute, hosted by our GiftED program in partnership with the Southern Arizona Gifted Network.

Throughout the morning, participants shared ideas, made new connections, laughed together, and gained practical strategies to better understand, challenge, and support gifted learners ... both at school and at home.

A huge shoutout to GiftED Program Director Marianne Landrith for bringing this meaningful event to life, and to our incredible nationally recognized thought leaders, Dr. Brian Housand and Dr. Alicia Schroeder-Schock, for sharing their expertise, energy, and inspiration with our community.

We love seeing parents and educators give up a Saturday morning because they are passionate about helping students thrive. More than 100 people in one room, all focused on supporting gifted learners - now that’s something worth celebrating! 👏✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the 2026 Regional Gifted Parent-Teacher Institute such a success!

Arizona School Boards Association

Proposition 320 will be on Arizona’s ballot this November. What could it mean for school districts?

That’s the conversation we’re having Oct. 5. ASBA is bringing together education leaders to discuss the proposed 60% direct instructional spending requirement, how affected districts would move toward compliance and potential implications for school budgets and operations.
Parents, educators, governing board members, administrators, education organizations and community partners are invited to join us.
