Amity's Center f

or Social Entrepreneurship works to train Amity students in entrepreneurial, communication, and business skills in order to increase their employability and develop businesses to support the Amity Foundation through the integration of Social Entrepreneurship and the Teaching and Therapeutic Community. The Amity Foundation's Center for Social Entrepreneurship was initiated in the summer of 2013 by Professors Dr. Harry Wexler, Ph.D. and Dr. Ellen McGrath, Ph.D. of New York University's Social Entrepreneurship Program. Since then, the Center has worked to bridge the practices of the social enterprise business world with that of Amity's therapeutic and teaching community. The goal of our center is to provide each student enrolled at our Circle Tree Ranch campus in Tucson, Arizona a unique opportunity to explore their creative business ideas. Each student is provided the chance to learn and practice entrepreneurial skills, create promising business proposals and generate social enterprises to sustain the work of our center. Our center is the hub of economical, social and environmentally business innovation. The Center for Social Entrepreneurship aims to showcase our integrated business model in hopes to inspire our community to engage in collaborative action to support social enterprises by capitalizing on our respective strengths to create new approaches to addiction treatment challenges in conjunction with social enterprises using a teaching and therapeutic community model.
