University EMS responds to all medical calls on the University of Arizona Campus in Tucson, Arizona. Our units are dispatched through the City of Tucson via Tucson Fire Department. From there, our crews respond immediately to where they are called to deliver high quality care to patients. We put an emphasis on patient care as an organization and treat every encounter as professional as possible.

🚨 UAEMS takes on the 9/11 Stair Climb 🇺🇸

Today, UAEMS members climbed 110 flights of stairs at Casino Del Sol Stadium to climb in honor of the 343 firefighters and 9/11 first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Each step represents a life remembered, a family forever changed, and a commitment to never forget. We climb for those who ran toward danger, and for the first responders who continue to serve their communities every day.

🚨 UAEMS FIRST DAY OF CLASS SAFETY TIPS 🚨

Whether you’re heading to class, exploring campus, or enjoying your first few weeks back, UAEMS has you covered!
Here are a few quick tips to help keep you and your friends safe:

🚶 Crossing streets: Use crosswalks, stay alert, and look up from your phone. Make eye contact with drivers when possible, don’t assume they see you!

☀️ Heat exhaustion: Arizona heat is no joke. Drink water, take breaks in the shade or AC, and watch for symptoms like dizziness, headache, nausea, or excessive sweating.

🍻 Alcohol poisoning: If someone is difficult to wake, vomiting repeatedly, breathing slowly or irregularly, or has pale/blue skin, call 911 immediately. Never leave them alone to “sleep it off.”

📞 Be a good 911 caller: Stay calm, know your location, clearly explain what happened, answer the dispatcher’s questions, and don’t hang up until they tell you to.

Your safety, and your friends’ safety, comes first. When in doubt, call 911. We’d rather respond and have everything be okay than have someone wait too long. 💙🚑

Today, we had the pleasure of hosting a Fourth of July BBQ to celebrate and thank our incredible agency partners. Your collaboration, dedication, and support inspire us everyday, and we’re grateful to celebrate this holiday together.

☀️ Arizona summers are no joke. Whether you’re heading to class, working outdoors, or enjoying time with friends, taking a few simple precautions can help you stay safe in the heat.

💧 Stay hydrated by carrying a reusable water bottle and drinking regularly.
 🕶️ Limit time in direct sunlight during peak heat hours (10 AM–4 PM) and take breaks in the shade when you can. 🧴 Protect your skin by applying SPF 30+ sunscreen and reapplying every 2 hours.

Small steps can make a big difference in preventing heat-related illness. Stay cool, stay protected, and Bear Down! ☀️🌵

Every second counts during a cardiac emergency. This week, we’re highlighting the importance of CPR and AED awareness and empowering our community with lifesaving skills.

UAEMS offers AHA BLS and Compression-Only CPR courses taught by certified instructors. Learn how you can make a difference when it matters most.

UAEMS celebrated an incredible group of graduating seniors at our Senior Sendoff and recognized members whose dedication, leadership, service, and commitment have left a lasting impact on our organization.

🏆 Red Shirt of the Semester – Ben Gerber Awarded to a red shirt who has demonstrated exceptional growth, dedication, professionalism, and commitment to learning throughout the semester.

🏆 Blue Shirt of the Semester – Caleb Greenfield Recognizes an experienced provider who consistently demonstrates excellence in patient care, leadership, mentorship, and service to the agency.

🏆 Provider of the Year – Matthew Toth Given annually to an EMT whose selflessness, leadership, commitment to improving provider knowledge, and contributions to the growth and success of UAEMS set them apart.

🏆 Harry McDermott Determination Award – Ethan Leigh Presented to a member who exemplifies dedication to UAEMS through mentorship, a willingness to learn, excellence in patient care, support of team morale, and commitment to the agency’s mission and values.

🏆 Distinguished Service Award – Ryan Kim & Jack Boylan Awarded to members who demonstrate outstanding dedication to service and leadership both within UAEMS and throughout the broader campus and community.

As we close out another year, we’re grateful for the countless hours, leadership, mentorship, and patient care these members have given to UAEMS and the University of Arizona community.
