Hudlow Teacher Tuesday…..

Hello! I am Colby Warnock. This is my eighth year in my dream job as a resource teacher here at Hudlow Elementary School. I get to support students in reading, writing, math, and social emotional skills. My favorite part about teaching is watching students turn past academic struggles into strengths.
I started teaching high school English in 1998 and quickly moved to special education where I taught middle school resource classes and high school self contained classes. I took a break from teaching in 2004 to stay home with my four children, but I always volunteered or long term subbed in my kid’s schools. I went back to teaching as a career in 2016 in a first grade classroom before joining Hudlow in 2019.
I’m from Texas, but as a military wife, I’ve lived and taught in 8 different states and one other country. I am grateful for the varied educational experiences I’ve had. They have broadened my understanding of how to best help each student achieve their learning goals.
I love working at Hudlow Elementary. The staff know and care about each student and are dedicated to the their success. I feel privileged to say “once a hawk, always a hawk”.

Welcome to the Hawk Family! My name is Katlyn (Katie) Dunne, I am the Second-grade Teacher at Hudlow. I have been in the educational field since 2012 (when I received my associate's degree in early childhood education). After I received my Associates Degree I worked at a preschool for about 2 years; that is when I decided to expand my education and learning journey by receiving my Bachelor's Degree. I worked at a Private Preschool as a Lead Teacher, Private school as a teacher assistant/substitute teacher/support staff, Charter School as a three-year old Teacher and Pre-K teacher and then went to TUSD as a Teacher Assistant for Kinder-Third Grade. I have been with TUSD for 6 years, I have been a Hawk for 3 years as the Second-Grade Teacher. I am truly thankful to be part of the Hawk Family! Being a Hawk has helped me spread my wings and soar higher each day. I am truly thankful to be a Hawk because we are a community that work together to accomplish new goals and skills.

Teacher Tuesday………::Hi, everyone calls me Mr. Jeremiah! I have been a part of the Hudlow family since 2014, and it’s safe to say that I truly love being here. Hudlow is more than just a workplace to me. The students and staff feel like family. I take great pride in helping keep our school safe, welcoming, and clean, but my favorite part of the job is building relationships with our students. Whether I’m playing games like Colors or Tag during lunch recess or simply sharing a smile and encouragement, I enjoy being part of their day. One of the greatest rewards of my job is watching our students grow from kindergarteners into confident fifth graders. Seeing their growth year after year is something I feel incredibly fortunate to experience.
I am a native Arizonan and have lived in Phoenix, Flagstaff, and Tucson. I have nine siblings and helped raise four of them, which sparked my passion for working with children from a young age. I earned an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and have worked with children since I was a teenager.
Outside of school, I enjoy listening to rock music and meditative music, playing video games, and working on art projects. One fun fact is that I write poetry!

Hudlow Teacher Tuesday…………My name is Kara Wise, and I am excited to be teaching 5th Grade Reading and Math, as well as 4th Grade Math. I began my teaching career at a charter school, where I worked for five years. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to teach 2nd through 5th grade. I have spent the most time in 5th grade because I love watching students develop their ideas, build confidence, and grow as learners.
I have been part of the Hudlow family for seven years, and I truly love being a Hawk! It is a privilege to teach, support, encourage, and watch our little Hawks grow and learn each day. I am grateful to work alongside such wonderful students, families, and staff.
I am originally from Connecticut, but my family and I moved to Arizona 19 years ago. Over the years, Tucson has become home, and I proudly consider myself a Tucsonan.
I look forward to another wonderful year of learning, growing, and making memories with my students. I am so excited to continue being part of the Hudlow Hawk family!
