Remember the top grade each month for attendance gets a free dress day the next month.

Every school day is a building block for success!
Missing even a few days each month can make it harder for students to catch up. Let’s build strong attendance habits together. 💪
How many days has YOUR child missed? Make sure they are in class and on track! ⭐️

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT
Daevion is an excellent student who shows up to class ready to work and ready to learn. He does his best with no complaints and gets along well with everyone around him. He knows how to balance work with fun, and it is a privilege to have him in my classroom!

The box has moved to Madrid our new AP. She is always the first person to come help when a staff member needs help. Ms. Colvin picked her because her students are hard population sometimes to manage, but Madrid is working on relationships with all of the Emotional Disabilities students. It is appreciated that she wants them to do well and helps them so much.

She is very hands on with students who are higher needs. Thank you so much.

A fascinating day of learning in Math!

Today, we worked on equivalent fractions through a ratio problem: the ratio of roses to daisies in a bouquet is 2:3 Students had to figure out how many roses and daisies would be needed for the 5th, 10th, 25th, and even the 100th bouquet.

What made today especially exciting was seeing the different ways students made sense of the same problem. Even while working at our vertical whiteboards, students were fully engaged and did a great job showing their thinking.

✨ One group noticed a skip-counting pattern.
✨ Another used repeated addition
✨ Some students used multiplication to find the quantities quickly.
✨ Others used a tape diagram to visually represent the relationship.

There wasn’t just one way to solve the problem and that was the best part! Watching students explain their strategies, compare their thinking, and learn from one another was such a rewarding part of the day.

These are the moments that remind me how much students bring to the classroom when we give them the space to think, explore, and show their own mathematical reasoning.📚-Mrs. Swathi 6th grade math teacher
