☀️Check out these fast facts and start planning your trip to Tumacácori National Historical Park!

🗺️ Where is it? This cultural heritage site is just five minutes away from Tubac, Arizona, and about an hour south of Tucson.

🤔Why go? This park preserves one of the oldest Spanish missions in the Southwest. It is on the homelands of the O'odham, who lived here long before the arrival of the Spanish and continue to steward these lands today.

🥾What can you do? Enjoy a ranger-led tour of the church. Hike the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail from Tumacácori to Tubac Presidio State Historic Park. Go birding along the Santa Cruz River. Experience a special event highlighting complex history of this unique cultural crossroads.

What does it take to become more fully yourself?

At the heart of "Courage" is a story about identity, belonging, and the courage to embrace where you come from.

Those ideas extend beyond the screen on November 5, when Eric Michael Hernandez shares his own story with audiences through conversation and hoop dance.

It is a deeply personal evening, but the questions at its center are universal: Who shaped us? What do we carry forward? And what gives us the courage to be seen?

For Eric Michael Hernandez, hoop dance became much more than something he learned. It became a way to tell his story.

Eric performed publicly for the first time at 14 and saw firsthand how hoop dance could inspire, connect, challenge stereotypes, and build bridges between cultures. That realization helped shape the speaker, filmmaker, storyteller, and world-renowned hoop dancer he is today.

On November 5, hear that story from Eric himself at “Courage in Motion” at the Fox Tucson Theatre.

Enjoy the first show in our Special "Meet the Artist" Event series—Santo Domingo Jewelry—on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, from 10 AM to 5 PM at The National Parks Store.

New Mexico's Santo Domingo Pueblo people are known as talented lapidary artists and beadmakers.
Award-winning artist Priscilla Nieto will showcase her intricate heishi jewelry—necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and more. Harvey Abeyta will discuss how these pieces were painstakingly created using traditional methods. Come to explore, learn, and purchase these one-of-a-kind pieces.

Meet Arizona’s fourth national park—Chiricahua National Park!

Located in southeastern Arizona on the homelands of the Chiricahua Apache, there’s plenty to experience in this incredible landscape.

⭐Hike 17 miles of trails and see towering rock pinnacles.
⭐Enjoy a scenic drive and watch a sunset from Massai Point.
⭐Spend a night at Bonita Canyon Campground, and take in the gorgeous night skies at this International Dark Sky Park.
