A big thank you to the Tucson Elks Lodge No. 385 for celebrating the dedication and service of our Northwest Fire District members! We appreciate the opportunity to be part of an evening that recognizes the people who make a difference in our community.

Congratulations to our 2025 Firefighter of the Year, Brandon Emans, on this well-deserved recognition! We’re grateful for his commitment to serving the Northwest Fire District community.

Code Save recognition! The crew at Station 333 B-Shift was recognized today for their incredible work saving a life.

A Code Save occurs when a person in cardiac arrest is successfully resuscitated and survives with a good neurological outcome. We’re incredibly proud of our crew members and the care they provide. Thank you to Northwest Medical Center for recognizing their lifesaving work!

Cooler weather is finally here, but that doesn’t mean hiking in Southern Arizona comes without risks!

Even when temperatures drop, desert trails can be challenging. Dehydration, rocky terrain, and unexpected changes in weather can still put hikers in danger.

Before you hit the trail, make sure you are prepared.

☀️ Check the forecast and plan your hike around good weather.

💧 Bring plenty of water and drink regularly.

🥾 Wear sturdy, supportive footwear and bring safety essentials.

📍 Know your route and tell someone where you’re going and when you expect to return.

🏜️ Start with a hike that matches your fitness and experience. Turn back if conditions change or if you’re struggling.

If you or someone in your group becomes ill, injured, or dangerously overheated, stop and call 911 if needed.

Thank you for 43 years of trust and support!

Today, we celebrate the formation of the Northwest Fire District and reflect on what a privilege it has been to save lives, protect property, and care for our community for the past 43 years.

On this day in 1983, the Pima County Board of Supervisors voted in favor of forming the Northwest Fire District.

“Now therefore, the board does find and declare: That the Northwest Fire District is duly organized and established. Passed, adopted and approved by the Pima County Board of Supervisors on this 18th day of October, 1983.”

For generations, you have welcomed us into your homes on your worst of days and trusted us in your most difficult of moments. Throughout it all, our community has been here to support us. We are incredibly grateful to serve such an amazing community. Thank you!

Last week, we had the privilege of officially bringing Ladder 336 into service!

Ladder companies play an important role in fireground operations. A new ladder is more than a new piece of equipment. It’s an investment in our ability to save lives, protect property, and care for our community.

We’re incredibly grateful to our community for the support that makes it possible! Thanks to you, this ladder will serve our community for years to come.

Hispanic and Latino communities have made lasting positive contributions to our nation, including right here at home. We’re grateful for the Hispanic and Latino members of our Northwest Fire District family and the work they do to serve our community.
