John Pabst for Governor of NJ

John Pabst for Governor of NJ My page, as I am running for Governor of NJ in 2021. I want to fix this AMAZING State, not use it as a steppingstone to a higher office.

Permanently closed.

I have no other ambitions except to correct what every Governor snce Whitman has done to destroy NJ

In my last post, I stated that I would repeal the Gas Tax. What is my proposal to offset that loss of income and have money for the Road Fund?

#2: Vacation Rental Tax

if the purpose of the Gas Tax was to have the out-of-town vacationers help to pay for the repairs and upgrades on NJ roads, then let's use that idea, but in a more practical way. I will place a $100 flat fee Vacation Rental Tax for a vacation properties that are rented in the numerous Shore Towns of NJ. Spending a week on LBI, renting a place for $1300? it's now $1400, and the $100 Rental Tax comes off the top.

Let's say - conservative numbers - there are 30,000 Vacation Rentals on LBI. 30,000 x $100 = $3,000,000. $3 Million x 10 weeks (roughly) of Summer = $30 Million. I think the Road Fund could survive on $30 Million...and that hasn't even accounted for the Summer Rental Properties in Ocean City, Wildwood, Seaside, Stone Harbor, Sea Isle, Pt Pleasant...the list goes on.

Again, please let me know what you think. I want to spend the next 4 years once I'm elected, to try to fix NJ.

One thing that people have been asking since I announced my candidacy for NJ Governor is what will my platform be? There are many issues in this State that need to be addressed, so let me start from the top, and I will address what I want to correct.

#1: Repeal the Gas Tax

In 2016, Chris Christie implemented a $0.23 Gas Tax to help replenish the Roads Fund, which was depleted due to numerous years of mismanagement. His theory was to have the out-of-staters that came to NJ for vacation to help pay for the roads that they used. The theory was they drove here from a distance, so they needed to fill up before leaving to get home...hence paying to repair the roads they used. The problem with that theory? The Gas Tax went into effect November 1st. Last time I checked, nobody drove to NJ Resort Towns to vacation in NOVEMBER! The ONLY ones replenishing the Roads Fund were US, the already OVERTAXED CITIZENS OF NJ! And now, Assclown Murphy has decided to raise the Gas Tax AGAIN! The citizens of NJ are already struggling, but let’s tighten the screws to them a little more! The 1st thing I will do WHEN I become Governor is to REPEAL the Gas Tax, to help the struggling NJ Citizen. How will we compensate for this though? Stay tuned, I do have a plan and I will explain in my next post. Let me know what you think in the comments section below.

To everyone...

Yes, I am announcing my candidacy for Governor of NJ. This is something I actually debated about doing 4 years ago, after seeing Governor after Governor use this State as a steppingstone, making NJ into a joke. My whole plan is to try to get NJ back on the right track. I have NO further political ambitions - I have no desire to be a Senator, Representative, or President. If you’re tired of the same garbage over and over and want to see a change, then stay tuned.
