Last evening, the Immaculate Conception School (ICS) Fair attracted several thousand attendees, including youths from throughout the region. The Village of Tuckahoe Police Dept, in coordination with the Eastchester Police Dept, conducted extensive pre-event planning and deployed personnel to help ensure a safe event.

The following security measures were implemented for the 2026 ICS Fair:
• Wristbands were required for entry with fee.
• No unaccompanied minors were permitted to enter the carnival grounds.
• The event’s scheduled closing time was reduced from 10PM to 9PM.
• Due to operational safety concerns and crowd size, the event was ordered closed at approximately 8:25 PM.

At approximately 8:15 PM, the fairgrounds became overcrowded, creating significant public safety concerns. In the interest of protecting attendees, staff, and the surrounding community, the decision was made to close the fair early.

Following the closure, a large group of youths in the surrounding area became unruly. To maintain public order and ensure the safety of residents, visitors, and businesses, mutual aid assistance was requested from law enforcement agencies throughout Westchester County. Officers worked collaboratively to disperse the crowd and restore order.

At this time, there have been no reports of injuries or property damage within the Village of Tuckahoe, and no arrests were made. Through the coordinated efforts of our officers and law enforcement partners, public safety was maintained during a challenging situation.

This morning, Village officials met with Father Siorgi of Immaculate Conception Church to review the events of last evening and discuss public safety concerns. A determination regarding the future of the event will be made at a later date.

Today, the fair will close at 5:00 PM. Additional police personnel will be deployed throughout the Village and at the event location to ensure continued safety and security.

We thank our residents for their patience, cooperation, and understanding. We remain committed to maintaining the safety, security, and quality of life our residents expect and deserve.

Congratulations to P.O. Peter Costa and P.O. Jalen Laboy who recently graduated from advanced S.W.A.T. schools!

P.O. Costa attended S.W.A.T. school run by the Ossining Police Department, while P.O. Laboy attended S.W.A.T. school run by the Yonkers Police Department. Both officers now join the Emergency Response Unit, which is comprised of Officers from the Tuckahoe, Eastchester, Bronxville, and Scarsdale Police Departments.

The schools consisted of several weeks of advanced training in weapons and tactics designed to prepare officers for critical incidents and major emergencies. We hope this team never needs to be utilized, but it is always better to be prepared in the event of an emergency within our community.

Congratulations and stay safe!

The Tuckahoe Police Department would like to remind parents and guardians that under New York State Law, children under the age of 16 are NOT permitted to operate E-Bikes or E-Scooters on public streets/sidewalks/property.

Over the past several months, there has been an increase in news reports throughout New York and across the country involving children being seriously injured or killed while operating E-Bikes and E-Scooters. Many of these accidents involve excessive speeds, riding in traffic, failure to obey traffic laws, and riders operating without helmets or proper experience.

Please be advised: E-Bikes and E-Scooters operated by underage riders on public roads or sidewalks will be subject to impoundment.

Riders 16 or 17 years of age MUST wear a helmet.

Our goal is education and prevention before a serious accident occurs within our community.

Please pass this on to your neighbors and we appreciate the cooperation of our residents in helping keep Tuckahoe safe for everyone!

🚨 9PM Routine Reminder 🚨

As part of our nightly 9PM Routine, we’re reminding all residents to take a few simple steps to keep our community safe:

🔒 Lock your vehicle doors
🎒 Remove valuables (or keep them out of sight)
🏠 Lock your home and garage doors
💡 Turn on exterior lights if available

Most vehicle break-ins we see involve unlocked cars. Don’t make it easy—take a few seconds each night to secure your property.

Working together, we can continue to keep our community safe.
