Thank you to everyone who came out this week for the Tryon Fire Department's Basic Life Support training. Learning lifesaving skills like CPR and emergency response can make all the difference when seconds count, helping community members feel prepared and confident in an emergency.

A special thank you to Andrew Kegley, Jessica Wetherington, and Billy Gibbs for sharing their knowledge and helping make this training possible. We appreciate your commitment to educating our community and strengthening public safety in Tryon.

Yesterday, the Tryon Fire Department had the opportunity to visit with students at Tryon Elementary School as part of Fire Prevention Month. Chief Connell, Lieutenant Coley, and Firefighters McMurray and Allen spent time discussing the importance of fire safety at home, including having a family emergency plan and a designated meeting place in the event of a fire.

The students were engaged throughout the presentation, asking thoughtful questions and sharing their own experiences and stories. Opportunities like these are an important part of the Fire Department's commitment to our community. By connecting with residents at a young age, our firefighters help build awareness, preparedness, and safer homes for everyone.

The Tryon Fire Department is proud to be visible, accessible, and actively involved in educating and serving our community.

The Tryon Fire Department has temporarily run out of smoke detectors. Residents who have purchased their own smoke detectors may still request assistance with installation. Our firefighters are available to install them and help ensure they are properly located throughout your home.

We will notify the community through social media when new smoke detectors are available and installation appointments can be scheduled.
