We are excited about the progress on our building and have received positive feedback from the community about the improvements to our building, new road and walking path.

We have also received some calls regarding the new tank installed to the left of our building. This tank is a rainwater cistern, designed to collect and store rainwater from the roof that would otherwise run off into storm drains. Instead, we’re putting that water to work irrigating the landscaping around the facility.

As part of our renovation, we’re also planting drought-tolerant, native plants that require far less irrigation than traditional landscaping. By combining water-wise plants with rainwater collection, we can significantly reduce our use of treated drinking water for outdoor watering while demonstrating practical conservation steps our whole community can adopt. Using systems like rain barrels and cisterns, paired with smart plant choices, we can help conserve water, lower costs, and make our facility more resilient during dry periods.

We are looking forward to moving back home to Main Street and thank the Trussville Gas and Water community for their patience during the renovation.
