On Monday, 5/18, a team from Cornell’s Project GNBee walked the grounds of Trumansburg’s Grove Cemetery searching for ground-nesting bee burrows. They found thousands. Large numbers of 10 different bee species are present in groups scattered throughout the cemetery.

The Town of Ulysses is soliciting Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from licensed Professional Engineering (PE) firms experienced in transportation infrastructure to provide bridge and culvert engineering analysis and design, project management, and grant writing services on an as-needed basis.

Electronic SOQ submissions are due no later than 4:00 pm on Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

HALSEYVILLE RD CLOSURE- APRIL 30:
The Tompkins County Highway Department will be closing Halseyville Road in the Town of Ulysses, (between Perry City Road and State Route 96) on Thursday, 4/30, from 7am to 4pm for cross-culvert replacement. There will be a detour in place.

The mission of the Highway Department is to provide highway and bridge construction, maintenance, and emergency services safely, effectively, and efficiently for our local and traveling public customers, while promoting self-esteem and growth as individuals.
