Friends of the Truckee Tahoe Airport (FOTTA) is a local organization focused on improving aviation safety, reducing noise and enabling a vibrant community-oriented airport. Our goal is to bring forward the value brought to the entire community by the Truckee Tahoe Airport, well beyond those who use the facility. Our focus is to bring a balanced and informed discussion that will continue to allow t

he airport to support the community in a productive and safe way. As community members, we are concerned about the state of the airport. Amid initiatives put forth by the Airport Board of Directors to starve the district of investment, pursue misguided policy and unintended consequences, several top-level staff members, including the General Manager and Director of Aviation, have resigned creating direct and immediate adverse impacts to safety, emissions, noise and outreach. Running an airport requires a nuanced understanding of aviation operations, yet with recent airport staff resignations we are largely flying blind.
