🏠🔨 Rock the Block UPDATE!
We’re getting a head start on our third-ever Rock the Block event, happening in Sidney September 28–October 2—and we couldn’t do it without incredible community partners!

A huge THANK YOU to A&E Home Services llc for jumping in early to help us prepare two of the homes we’ll be working on. Their team is roofing one home and installing new siding on another, helping us make these homes safer, stronger, and more beautiful for the homeowners who call them home. 🏠✨

We’re grateful to First Bank Midwest for sponsoring five park benches for the Parks and Graceland Cemetery!

Duane Gaier represented the Shelby County, Ohio Parks Department, and First Bank Midwest VP/Financial Center Manager Eric Noble was on hand to celebrate the donation.

Through Habitat for Humanity of Miami and Shelby Counties’ sponsorship program, community partners can sponsor Park Bench Packages, Picnic Table Packages, and Project Playhouses, with proceeds supporting our Home Repairs Program. Since January 2024, this program has helped fund more than 45 critical home repairs for local homeowners.

We hope these new benches provide welcoming places for our community to gather, relax, and enjoy Shelby County’s beautiful spaces. Thank you, First Bank Midwest, for helping us build stronger communities! 💚💙

Habitat for Humanity of Miami and Shelby Counties was proud to deliver a Picnic Table Package sponsored by Agrana Fruit US Inc to the Shelby County Board of Developmental Disabilities/Shelby Hills Preschool. Lucinda Morgan-preschool director, and Leigh Anne Wenning, superintendent were there to thank Agrana representatives Wendy Smith and Spencer McPeek for their donation and to celebrate a partnership that benefits both our community and local homeowners.
Habitat Marketing and Volunteer Coordinator Maureen O'Keefe shared how our sponsorship program, launched in 2024, helps strengthen communities in more ways than one. Sponsors can support a Picnic Table Package, Park Bench Package, or Project Playhouse with a contribution of $2,500 or more. Once completed, each project is donated to a local youth-serving organization, while sponsorship proceeds directly fund Habitat's Home Repairs Program, providing critical accessibility improvements for qualified homeowners.
Thanks to the generosity of community partners like Agrana who sponsored AND BUILT the package, Habitat for Humanity of Miami and Shelby Counties has completed more than 45 critical home repairs since January 2024, helping more families remain safe and secure in their homes.
We hope these new picnic tables and park benches provide a place for friends and families to gather, relax, and make lasting memories. Thank you, .fruit for investing in our community!

🏠 Rock the Block is getting underway!

Last week marked the beginning of some of the pre-work for our third-ever Rock the Block event, taking place in Sidney September 28–October 2. Today, Connor with Nitro Roofing and Construction stopped by one of the homes we’ll be working on—because Nitro is helping us get a head start by installing a brand-new roof before the event!

We’re incredibly grateful to Nitro Roofing for partnering with SRS Distribution Inc. and GAF - Roofing to make this roof affordable for our Rock the Block project.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the courage of the first responders who ran toward danger in service to others.

We remember the victims, their families, the brave firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel, and the countless individuals whose selfless acts of courage and compassion inspired our nation in one of its darkest moments.

As we reflect on this day, may we never forget the resilience, unity, and hope that emerged in the face of tragedy.

This morning our dedicated Habitat Activity Center volunteers took the show on the road for home repair sponsor Agrana Fruit US Inc. Three of our volunteers packaged supplies for picnic tables and park benches and traveled up to Botkins so that Agrana staff could help build two tables and a bench that will be donated to an organization in the community.
Each package is sponsored and built by volunteers then donated to organizations in our area. Sponsorship dollars buy supplies for the tables and benches and are used to complete critical home repairs for existing homeowners.
With the support of generous companies like .group , and community members willing to jump in and lend their time, we have completed over 45 critical home repairs since the initiative began in 2024!
