As the 2025-2026 school year begins tomorrow, the Pike County Sheriff's Office has taken proactive steps to ensure a safe, smooth, and successful start for students, families, and school staff across the county.

School Resource Officers (SROs) are fully deployed and ready to support students on day one. They have spent the summer participating in advanced training focused on school safety, crisis response, and youth engagement. They are committed to maintaining a visible and trusted presence on each campus.

Please look over the following saftey tips!

🚌Watch for School Buses:
> Drivers must stop when school buses are loading or unloading and their stop arms are extended.
> Passing a stopped school bus is not only illegal but also extremely dangerous.
> Please do your part to keep children safe.

🚦Safety Reminders for Motorists:
>Obey all school zone speed limits.
>Watch for children in crosswalks and neighborhoods.
> Follow instructions from crossing guards and deputies.
> Avoid distractions, especially using cell phones while driving.

🚗 Car Riders
>Please arrive in a timely manner , the first few weeks of school will be more congested until everyone gets back into the routine of things.
> Student drivers please be aware of your surroundings. Once you arrive park your car lock your vehicle and make your way to the school.

The Sheriff's Office also encourages the community to report any suspicious activity near school campuses. Community involvement is crucial to maintaining a secure school environment.

We look forward to seeing everyone!!!
