The library will tentatively be closed on Thursday, June 25th and Friday, June 26th so we can have new windows installed.

Please note that this closure is weather permitting. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make these upgrades to our building.

Don't forget—our digital collection is always open. Drop by before Thursday to stock up on your weekend reads, or visit our website to check out e-books, audiobooks, and more.

We absolutely love that you trust us to give your gently used books a happy new home! 📚❤️ Our community's generosity is what makes our book sales so wonderful.

However, we want to share a gentle reminder about why we ask that all book donations be dropped off only during our designated donation days (every Tuesday from open to close, and on official book sale days).

Over this past weekend while we were closed, several stacks of books were left outside by our front door. Because of the heavy rain we received, these books became completely water-damaged and, heartbreakingly, we have no choice but to throw them away. 🌧️😢

When books are left outside after hours, they are unfortunately vulnerable to the elements, humidity, and pests. To ensure your amazing donations actually make it to future readers, please hold onto them until our next designated donation day!

Thank you so much for your understanding, your cooperation, and your continuous support of the library!

In observance of Juneteenth, the library is closed today, Friday, June 19. We will reopen for our regular hours tomorrow.

Juneteenth marks a monumental day in American history—the day freedom reached the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

While our doors are closed, our digital shelves are always open. Today is a perfect opportunity to reflect, learn, and honor Black history and voices. We’ve put together a curated collection of powerful, inspiring reads for all ages, available right here in our catalog.

‼️🐱HELP! We’ve got cats… but no way to carry them!‼️🐱

Our shelter is extremely low on small/medium hard-shell cat carriers, and our whiskered friends need a lift! 🚗💨
We use carriers to safely transport cats to the shelter, foster homes, and our adoption events, but right now, we’re running on empty paws!

If you have a gently used or brand new plastic cat carrier that’s collecting dust in your closet, we’d love to take it off your hands (and fill it with a very grateful cat 😻)!

Don’t have one on hand but want to donate?
Plastic cat carriers can also be purchased online or at any pet store!
