๐ General Information
This position is to fill the opening for the role of GIS Coordinator.
Responsible for performing advanced analysis, design, and development in GIS-related activities.
This is an hourly position.
Starting pay is based upon experience and qualifications.
๐ ๏ธ Key Responsibilities
Maintain and enhance GIS datasets supporting 9-1-1 operations
Perform advanced spatial analysis and GIS application development
Ensure accuracy of address points, road centerlines, and jurisdictional boundaries
Support NG9-1-1 mapping standards and compliance
Collaborate with local agencies, municipalities, and emergency responders
Conduct data quality control and system updates

Minimum Qualifications
Four (4) years of direct GIS experience; OR
Four (4) years of college coursework (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) from an accredited college or university, including completion of four (4) college-level GIS courses ๐
Valid Alabama Driverโs License ๐
Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English
Must pass a background investigation meeting all local, state, and federal requirements
No felony convictions
Must have never been convicted of, or pled nolo contendere to, a felony, serious misdemeanor, crime of moral turpitude, or crime of violence
Must be able to pass a drug screening
๐ Preferred Qualifications
Bachelorโs degree in a related field
Associateโs degree in a related field
Certification as a GIS-P
