๐Ÿ”Ž General Information

This position is to fill the opening for the role of GIS Coordinator.

Responsible for performing advanced analysis, design, and development in GIS-related activities.

This is an hourly position.

Starting pay is based upon experience and qualifications.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Key Responsibilities

Maintain and enhance GIS datasets supporting 9-1-1 operations

Perform advanced spatial analysis and GIS application development

Ensure accuracy of address points, road centerlines, and jurisdictional boundaries

Support NG9-1-1 mapping standards and compliance

Collaborate with local agencies, municipalities, and emergency responders

Conduct data quality control and system updates

โœ… Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) years of direct GIS experience; OR
Four (4) years of college coursework (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) from an accredited college or university, including completion of four (4) college-level GIS courses ๐ŸŽ“

Valid Alabama Driverโ€™s License ๐Ÿš—

Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English

Must pass a background investigation meeting all local, state, and federal requirements

No felony convictions

Must have never been convicted of, or pled nolo contendere to, a felony, serious misdemeanor, crime of moral turpitude, or crime of violence

Must be able to pass a drug screening

๐ŸŒŸ Preferred Qualifications

Bachelorโ€™s degree in a related field

Associateโ€™s degree in a related field

Certification as a GIS-P

POWER HAS BEEN RESTORED

The power will be off in the neighborhoods and side streets along Franklin Drive while our crews replace a pole that was broken by a motorist. We will try to keep the outage as short as possible for everyone affected. Please also avoid Franklin Drive north of the ball fields if possible while our crews work safely to make the repairs.

Troy Utilities is replacing a power pole at the intersection S Franklin Dr & Sherwood Ave. Power should be out for approximately 1 hour. Alls calls for utilities are rolling to the 911 center. Please refrain from reporting the outage unless there is an emergency.
