🇺🇸 Doniphan County added to Purple Heart Trail 🇺🇸

A heartfelt thank you to the leadership of Doniphan County for taking meaningful action during the April 13, 2026 regular meeting of the Board of County Commissioners to officially designate Doniphan County as a Purple Heart County.

This designation is a powerful way to recognize and honor the courage and sacrifice of America’s combat-wounded veterans. It reflects a shared commitment to never forget those who were wounded or killed in service to our nation, and to ensure their legacy is carried forward with dignity and respect.

We also want to recognize the residents of Doniphan County for their continued support and pride in honoring our veterans. Community recognition like this is only possible because of the people who believe in remembrance and gratitude.

As part of this designation, Doniphan County will observe August 7 as Purple Heart Day each year, providing a time for reflection and appreciation for those who bore the cost of freedom.
