Sponsorship opportunity is LIVE for the 2026 Keep Pushing Fundraiser on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Joe Reardon Skatepark in Troy, Ohio.

Heroes come from every background, every neighborhood, every age group, and every walk of life.

That's what makes our skatepark community special.

Skateboarding has always been about diversity, not just in who rides them, but in the different perspectives, talents, experiences, and stories that come together in one place. At the skatepark, everyone belongs. It doesn't matter where you come from, what you look like, or your skill level. What matters is showing up, supporting one another, and continuing to push forward.

The future of the Joe Reardon Skatepark won't be built by one hero. It will be built by a diverse community of everyday heroes parents, skaters, local businesses, volunteers, artists, nonprofits, and supporters who believe Troy deserves a place where everyone feels welcome.

Mark your calendar! On September 19th, we'll come together to celebrate those heroes while continuing our push for a NEW concrete skatepark in Troy, Ohio.

Celebrate:

• The people who give their time.
• The people who invest in their community.
• The people who encourage the next generation.
• The people who understand that our differences make us stronger.

This fundraiser is about more than skateboarding. It's about community, diversity, inclusion, resilience, and creating a space where everyone has the opportunity to belong.

Together, our diversity unites us. Together, we keep pushing. UNITE US!

Join us. Sponsor the event. Support the vision. Help us build the future of skateboarding in Troy.

1988 skateboarding in Troy Ohio was alive and well. We were often run out of everywhere we went. The more obscure alleyways and jump ramps were our playgrounds. Nobody took us seriously. We were a silent rebellion chasing our passion……we still are. KEEP PUSHING.

TROY CITY SKATEBOARD UNITE THANKS CITY COUNCIL FOR SUPPORT

TROY - On February 17th, it was announced at the meeting of Troy City Council that the Council’s Recreation and Parks Committee recommends that the City commit $410,000 in future funding through the city’s Capital Improvement Plan for new restrooms, lighting and new benches and tables at the Joe Reardon Skate Park.

“Basically, the City Council sees the value in making an investment in our community’s skate park and that was confirmed through the city’s master park planning process,” said Matt Williams, President of Troy City Skatepark Unite, Inc. “This commitment shows the community that the City of Troy is a committed partner in making a new Joe Reardon Skate Park a reality.”

Last year, Troy City Skatepark Unite, Inc., unveiled a new conceptual plan for the skate park, which will make the facility attractive to skaters of all skill levels and will also make the community a regional hub for skateboarding activity. “We anticipate users from all across the midwest coming to this new state of the art facility,” said Williams.

Latest estimates show the new park will cost in excess of $2 million to construct the new facility and the group has been raising funds for years. “Through our annual “Keep Pushing” event, we have been able to raise funds for a new skatepark, but this commitment of over $400,000, will allow us to reach out to new funders and different foundations showing we have a significant public commitment for this project,” added Williams.

Skateparks have become powerful assets within modern communities, offering far more than a place to ride a skateboard. They provide a safe, structured environment for physical activity, encouraging youth and adults alike to stay active, develop discipline, and build confidence. By giving skaters a designated space, communities reduce street skating conflicts and promote positive social interaction. Skateparks often become inclusive gathering places where people of different ages, backgrounds, and skill levels connect, fostering a sense of belonging and shared pride.

Beyond their social benefits, skateparks significantly enhance community landscapes. Thoughtfully designed parks transform underutilized or vacant spaces into vibrant, visually engaging areas that complement surrounding infrastructure. Many modern skateparks incorporate green space, public art, seating, and pedestrian-friendly layouts, making them attractive not only to skaters but to families, spectators, and nearby businesses. This improved aesthetic and functional value contributes to revitalized neighborhoods, increased foot traffic, and stronger local economies.

Importantly, skateparks also play a role in making towns more appealing to individuals and families considering relocation. Communities that invest in recreational amenities signal progress, youth engagement, and quality of life—key factors for people choosing where to live. A skatepark demonstrates that a town values healthy lifestyles, creativity, and inclusive public spaces. This is why we need growing support from the community to ensure the skatepark comes to fruition for all those to enjoy. Collective advocacy, collaboration, and investment are essential to turn this vision into a lasting asset that benefits current residents of Miami County and future generations alike.
