Miami Valley Veterans Museum Founded in 2009 the Miami Valley Veterans Museum's Mission is to Honor, Preserve and Perpetuate the legacy of veterans.

Our purpose is first and foremost, to honor and preserve the memory of local veterans through a museum dedicated to their contributions, to create and protect the freedoms that we as Americans enjoy. To serve as an educational tool that teaches youth about our military involvement throughout the world, and finally to provide a unique tourist hot spot in Miami County.

Ted Jones, President of the Miami Valley Veterans Museum, and museum Curator, John Bankowitz, accept an appreciation plaque from the Vietnam Veterans of America. Presenting the plaque for the VVA is American Legion Post 200 Commander Paul Mussolino. Miami Valley Veterans Museum was instrumental in helping the Vietnam Veterans of America raise more than $1,000 for their programs.

Mark Schutzinger, VFW Post Commander, Huber Heights, presents a $5,000 check to Ted Jones, Casey Kingham, Mitch Fogle, and Gary Kildow to support the Miami Valley Veterans Museum. The funds will go towards supporting the museum's various programs and building fund. The Miami Valley Veterans Museum is grateful to VFW Post 9582 and its staff for supporting the museum in this way.

This Friday, May 29th at 12:00 PM, The Courtyard in Troy will proudly host a special lunch honoring our local First Responders and Military members.

This event is a small way to say THANK YOU to the men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting, serving, and sacrificing for our communities and our country every single day.

Whether you wear the uniform now or have served in the past, your courage, commitment, and selfless service do not go unnoticed.

Van Cleve School's Purple Star Group from Rebecca Klosterman' class visited the Miami Valley Veterans Museum yesterday. They had the opportunity to talk with many former servicemen about their service-related experiences, giving the sixth-grade students a window into what it's like to serve in the military and what it means to the nation.

On Monday, June 15, 10am-6pm, Miami County Liberty will be hosting their 2026 Next Generation Liberty camp here at Miami Valley Veterans Museum! The event is FREE! Pre register kids ages 7-16 by June 12 to [email protected]. There will be various stations to learn about America’s Historical Battles for Freedom, free lunch, snacks, and pizza dinner for the family! We will be making flags and even writing to heroes. The Miami Valley Veterans Museum is looking for a special volunteer.... Are you that special person?

We need, and are looking for someone that can be the "the public face of the museum” .

1. Can you respond to media inquiries related to the museum?,
2. Emcees the monthly meetings on the first Wednesday of each month at 9 a.m.
3. Keeps the Facebook and Web page and keep current to educate about museum programming and activities,
4. Make radio spots on the Troy radio station, WTJN Power 107.1; to inform the public about the museum's activities.
6. Promotes the work of the museum as a speaker at meetings of area clubs and organizations,

If you are interested in helping the Miami Valley Veterans Museum expand our programs and inform the public. please consider volunteering at the museum! You do not need to be a veterans to volunteer.
