During that time he has tried more than 125 jury trials to verdicts as both a prosecutor and defense attorney. Gary served 21 of those years as a judge advocate prosecutor and defense attorney in the United States Air Force. itary Review. Appellate Judge Grunick personally authored over 150 scholarly opinions, which left a profound influence on our military justice system for years to come. Upon retirement from the military with the rank of Colonel, he returned home to the St. Louis area and private law practice for the next 12 years. Then Gary moved to Lincoln County and served for 8 years as a Public Defender for the State of Missouri. He represented over 300 individuals a year in the 45th Judicial Circuit in court proceedings. He currently serves as the Troy Municipal Judge since 2013. He has been and continues to be active in charity and community organizations. As a Trustee for LifeWay Christian Resources, a half-a-billion dollar a year not-for-profit organization, Gary served 8 years as an executive board member, and chairman of the business and audit committees. He served at Troy First Baptist as Church Moderator, Chair of Finance Committee, teaching adults, and is active in mission projects. Gary received a B.S. Degree in Business Administration (1970) and a Juris Doctorate Degree in Law (1973) from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He and his wife, Libby, both grew up in north St. Louis County and have resided on their family farm in north Lincoln County for the past 15 years.
