MEET THE MEMBER MONDAY

A 30+ year member of the Kiwanis Club of Troy- meet Dean! As an active member of the board of directors, Dean has lead our fundraising efforts for as long as we can remember! From manning the order table at chicken BBQs to counting cases of fruit as they arrive off the truck from Florida- Dean has always been there!

As work has moved his family south, he is still a member of the club and continues to support and participate from afar. Virtual meetings is a benefit of being in the Troy Club as it allows our members to participate and stay active even if they move or travel for work.

Dean, your dedication and commitment to Kiwanis and the Troy Club is unmatched. THANK YOU!

MEET THE MEMBER MONDAY

Kiwanis has been an important part of Kileen’s life since high school, when she served as President of her high school’s Key Club. After graduating college and returning to her hometown, she joined the Troy Kiwanis as a young professional and quickly became an active leader within the club. Over the years, she served as Club President, a member of the board of directors, and as Lieutenant Governor of the Van Rensselaer Division, NY Kiwanis District.

As a busy professional and mom of four, Kileen continues to dedicate whatever time she can to the club and appreciates the flexibility it offers.

Through Kiwanis, Kileen has built lifelong friendships and meaningful connections while continuing to make a positive impact in her community. We are grateful for her dedication and proud to recognize her as a valued member of the Troy Kiwanis. Thank you, Kileen, for your continued commitment to service!

MEET THE MEMBER MONDAY

Karl joined Kiwanis in 2004 as a way to meet new people and give back to the community. Over the years Karl has served in different roles including a member of the finance committee, a board member and president. Karl’s favorite kiwanis memory is the Victorian Stroll Chestnut Roasting, sharing the holiday spirit, encouraging the community to try roasted chestnuts and raising funds to support our mission of helping children. Karl appreciates the flexibility of the Kiwanis Club of Troy and continues to participate in projects as he has time. Thank you, Karl, for being a part of our Kiwanis Family!

MEET THE MEMBERS MONDAY

Next up, Olivia and Dan! Olivia inherited the love and passion of serving the community and became a 4th generation Kiwanian in 2012 after being a member of Key Club and Circle K. Troy Kiwanis gave Olivia a platform to foster new ideas through networking, service and fundraising. When Dan met Olivia he wanted to experience the passion Olivia had for the organization. Dan quickly became involved volunteering at weekend service projects and serving as a member of the board of directors. Together they are able to serve the community and are raising the next generation of Kiwanians in their 2 sons. They want to show their boys what community is all about.

Today was our first of 9 summer reading days at the Tri-City ValleyCats! Every Sunday home game come early and the first 40 families can receive a book and read with the players!

Thank you to our friends at the Kiwanis Club of Troy, NY / , for donating books for families on Sunday Funday! Every Sunday, we are so excited to share 40 children's books with fans of all ages. Stop by The Joe to pick some up.

MEET THE MEMBERS MONDAY
Tenika and Jalen are a dynamic mother/son duo! Tenika has been instrumental in sending students to Kamp Kiwanis and has run a K-Kids Program at several schools in Troy. Jalen watched his mom volunteer as a member and attended many events as a child including the annual Tony and Helen Thomas Steak Roast. Jalen joined Kiwanis a few years ago wanting to give back to his community. He now assists with K-Kids. They both enjoy serving meals at our annual Chicken BBQ. Thank you, Tenika and Jalen, for being dedicated members of our club!

MEET THE MEMBERS MONDAY
Cary has been an active member of Kiwanis for many years. Her passions are fundraising and event planning. Cary enjoys volunteering as the co-fundraising chair and is currently taking orders for our upcoming Annual Chicken BBQ on May 15th. In addition, she also leads the planning for our Annual Steak Roast which features the ever so popular Delicious Desserts Competition.
