Joseph's House & Shelter, Inc. Joseph's House & Shelter is a not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to provide non-judgmental services to end homelessness.

is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides non-judgmental services to end homelessness, operating in Rensselaer and Albany Counties in New York's Capital Region. Our programs offer street outreach, emergency shelter, and permanent supported housing to homeless individuals and families in Albany and Rensselaer Counties. We guide guests to get help from community agencies and act as an advocate for

the homeless to address immediate and long term needs. We provide an opportunity for people from our community to volunteer in service to the homeless. We recognize each person's strengths, capacity and right to self-determination. We affirm each person's dignity, and show respect through non-judgmental advocacy. We are committed to Housing First and harm reduction principles. Our vision is a community where everyone has safe and affordable housing.

Andrew and Ollie from our Development team were thrilled to volunteer yesterday, helping out one of our great partners, the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce, at their Annual Golf Classic.

It was a beautiful day, with incredible support shown for the Chamber, and opportunities to connect with community members, local businesses, and fellow nonprofits.

While we were on the course, we couldn't help but get excited for our own tournament! Save the date for Tuesday, September 22, and keep an eye out for more information about Joseph's House & Shelter's "Birdies for a Cause" Golf Tournament. We can't wait to see you there! 🏌️⛳

A heartfelt thank you to the DeFazio's Pizzeria family—Rocco, Elizabeth, Matt—and everyone who helped make yesterday's Stickball Tournament such a tremendous success!

It's inspiring to see our community come together in the ways we did yesterday, and we were honored to be part of such a special day.

Thank you to everyone who helped fill the trolley with much-needed donations, and to all who supported Joseph's House & Shelter through the raffle and other generous contributions. Your kindness and generosity help make our work to end homelessness in our community possible, and we are incredibly grateful for you. ❤️

With dangerous temperatures impacting our area, our outreach team is on the ground supporting individuals living unsheltered—providing water, food, and essential supplies.

We urgently need bottled water donations to keep people hydrated and safe.

The excitement is building for the DeFazio's Pizzeria Stickball Tournament this Sunday!

We kicked things off this morning with a press conference in the courtyard at our Hill Street location.

I got to spend a wonderful evening attending the opening night performance of Moulin Rouge The Musical - Broadway!

To celebrate Moulin Rouge, The Musical, Proctors and the touring company invited nominations for individuals who truly embody the bohemian values of truth, beauty, freedom, or love, for those who live authentically, inspire others through creativity and passion, break barriers, or lead with compassion, kindness, and heart.

Thank you to the leadership at Joseph’s House and Shelter for nominating me and honoring me in this way. It means so much to be recognized alongside people who work every day to make the world brighter, whether through big, bold moments or quiet, meaningful ones.

I strive to show up with compassion, authenticity, and heart in all that I do, and I feel incredibly honored to be recognized and to see a play near and dear to my heart on its opening night.
