Thank you, Isabella!

WAY TO GO! 🪡 Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York has announced that Troy Girl Scout Isabella earned the Girl Scout Silver Award for a project supporting people experiencing homelessness. Isabella sewed and donated 10 handmade blankets to Joseph’s House & Shelter and led a community workshop combining sewing instruction with education about homelessness.

Great job, Isabella! 👏

🍌 A big thank you to Lost & Found Albany for supporting Joseph’s House & Shelter through their annual Banana Party!

We’re grateful to be the recipient of a donation from this fun community event and appreciate the Lost & Found team and everyone who came out to support it. Your generosity helps us continue providing services and support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness throughout the Capital Region.

Last night, our Director of Outreach Services, Sara Dzembo, and Associate Director of Development, Ollie Otty, attended Congressman Paul Tonko’s Capital Region Housing Expo, connecting with community partners and sharing information about the services and resources available through Joseph’s House & Shelter.

Thank you Congressman Tonko for bringing organizations together around the shared goal of expanding access to housing and support in our community!

Tuesday, August 25th, join U.S. Congressman Paul Tonko for his Capital Region Housing Expo at SUNY Schenectady Community College, for a community-centered event designed to help Capital Region residents understand and navigate today’s housing landscape, connect with local organizations, and access resources that support safe, stable, and affordable housing.

This free event brings together local housing organizations, government agencies, nonprofits, renters’ rights advocates, and community partners—all in one place—to offer direct support, answer questions, and provide practical guidance on housing programs, eligibility, and pathways to homeownership and securing/maintaining affordable housing.
