Don’t forget - the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Disposal Program is happening this Saturday, May 9!

📍 Troy Resource Management Facility (Alamo), 3000 Main St
🕘 Open to residents of participating communities

Safely dispose of household materials that can’t go in your regular trash - free of charge. Advance registration is required.

👉 Troy residents: register at troyny.gov/hhw
👉 Residents outside Troy: check your municipality’s website to sign up

🚫 Please note: No electronics, tires, or shredding will be accepted

Participating communities include Troy, Grafton, North Greenbush, Schodack, Rensselaer, and Bethlehem.

Textiles include adult and children's clothing, paired shoes, accessories including hats and scarves, as well as sheets and curtains. You can bring yours to one of four locations throughout the City to be recycled or reused depending on condition. Learn more at www.troyny.gov/textiles.

Registration for the 5/18 household hazardous waste event is on the City website at www.troyny.gov/hhw. You can also call the City Recycling Specialist at (518) 279-7313 to register.

Attention everyone! The City of Troy has TWO upcoming events to assist with your household spring cleaning.

THIS SATURDAY, May 11th, the Alamo will be open for FREE bulk trash drop-off. Please remember that we do not accept stuffed U-Hauls or trailers, and you MUST be a Troy resident. For a full list of what is/is not accepted, visit https://www.troyny.gov/265/Bulk-Trash-Collection.

MAY 18th, the City of Troy is hosting a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Disposal Event at the Alamo from 8 am to 12 pm. HHW items include fertilizer, gasoline and paint. You MUST register prior to the event. For more information, visit troyny.gov/hhw.

If your blue recycling bin cracks or breaks, recycle it! Get a new bin through two pick-up options, or call the DPW at (518) 270-4579 to schedule a drop-off. When you've got your new bin, put the old one inside it on your next service day so it's recycled! Learn more about our recycling program at www.troyny.gov/recycling.
