18 years ago, you changed my life forever.

Today, I get to watch you step into adulthood with grace, strength, and purpose. Watching you grow into the strong, kind, and incredible young woman you are today has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.

No matter how old you get, you will always be my baby. I am very proud of you.

Happy 18th birthday—I love you always.❤️

March is National Reading Month 📚

Literacy remains a key priority of the Michigan Education Association and is essential to strong communities.

Here are simple ways we can all help improve literacy:
📚 Read every day—even 10–15 minutes matters
👨‍👩‍👧 Read aloud with children
🏫 Visit your local library
📵 Limit screen time and encourage books
💬 Talk about what you read
✏️ Encourage writing and storytelling

Honored to join Superintendent Machesky, Mayor Baker, Troy School District, the Black Student Union, the Student Equity Council, and so many incredible students to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

I was especially proud to see my daughters — who attend Troy Public Schools — take part in this meaningful day of service.

The projects completed will directly support organizations here in our community, reflecting Dr. King’s powerful reminder that service is one of the greatest ways we uplift one another.

When our young people lead with compassion and action, our future is in good hands. ✨

I’m running for Michigan State Senate🏛️

For over a decade, Troy has been home — where I’ve raised my kids and served my community. Every single day, I see families working hard and still struggling to get ahead.

That’s why I’m taking this fight to Lansing.

As your Senator, I’ll bring the same commitment I bring to my patients and my community — showing up, listening, and getting to work on the issues that actually matter to you.

Our district deserves a strong voice. I’m ready to be that voice. 💙

Congratulations to Council Members and on your re-election. I would also like to recognize for a hard-fought campaign — I look forward to working together in service to our community.

To all of the candidates who were not elected, thank you for stepping forward. Running for office requires commitment, courage, and a genuine desire to serve. Your willingness to participate in our democratic process and advocate for our city is appreciated.

Regarding the bond, I am grateful to everyone who shared their thoughts and concerns throughout this election. We have heard our residents, and we will continue to work diligently to find the right path forward to meet our city’s long-term capital needs.
